The
science and legal bit!
The International Occupational Hygiene Association defines
Occupational Hygiene as:
‘The discipline of anticipating, recognising, evaluating
and controlling health hazards in the working environment
with the objective of protecting worker health and well-being
and safeguarding the community at large’.
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations
(COSHH) 2002 requires that all employers assess the risk to
workers of exposure to hazardous substances
How ALS can help you

ALS can help you control the risks. A healthy
workplace can only be achieved by the correct assessment
of the risks to health arising from work. One of the main
functions of occupational hygiene is to identify and evaluate
worker exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents
and then recommend suitable, cost effective control strategies.
We have competent staff trained in Occupational
Hygiene and members of the British Occupational Hygiene
Society as well as the facilities and equipment to undertake
all detailed monitoring.
